Top Workplace in Montana Awards 2021

#2 Top Workplace in Montana Award.

We are thrilled that Missoula Bone & Joint was recognized as the #2 Top Workplace in Montana in the large company category. A big thank you to our physicians, our leadership team, and all of our amazing staff for making MB&J a Top Workplace in Montana!

This award is based on employee nominations; it is special because it is the employees that vote on what it means to work at that workplace. There were 766 employers in Montana nominated/invited to participate and they chose the top 12 based on employee survey responses.  The results showed the top workplaces scored significantly higher in “caring” and a “friendly” culture.

Click Here for the article that was published in the Missoulian on Sunday July 25, 2021. The award ceremony was aired on July 23rd. Here is the Video Link if you would like to watch the inaugural 2021 Montana Top Workplaces Ceremony presented by Lee Enterprises of Montana.

Dan Kessler, President and COO of Energage explains during the award ceremony that the way they identify top work places is by asking the employees what they think. “We ask employees for their authentic, candid feedback on workplace culture and we use that data to assess the level of employee engagement and the strength of the culture.” They measured the 15 culture drivers identified by Energage, the research partner for the Top Workplaces. Employees at Top Workplaces feel heard, they feel appreciated, they believe in the direction you are headed and they are resilient. He then explains that what is most important to employees is connection. He says, to make that real connection happen you have to (1) celebrate the good to build loyalty and pride, (2) give employees a voice and keep the dialogue going throughout the year, and (3) make people informed decisions to gain the trust and confidence of your team.

#1 Top Leader in Montana Award.

Sami Spencer, the CEO at Missoula Bone & Joint has built this culture at her workplace. Sami was awarded the #1 Top Leader in Montana in the Large Company Category. Sami may have been surprised by this award but her team at Missoula Bone & Joint was not. Sami makes a great leader and this is most evident when patients comment about “the positive atmosphere” and how “the staff looks like they love their jobs”.
