    Orthopedic Surgeon

    Dr. Jeffrey LaPorte embarked on his journey in sports medicine while excelling in football and baseball at John Carroll University in Ohio, graduating in 1980. His medical journey continued at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, culminating in his Orthopedic Surgical training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1990.

    Before settling in Montana in 2006, Dr. LaPorte served as the esteemed team physician for Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green High School, Elmwood High School, and Eastwood High School in Ohio. Initially joining Western Montana Clinic, he later became a partner at Missoula Bone & Joint in 2014.

    As a board-certified general orthopedic surgeon, Dr. LaPorte specializes in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. His expertise extends to sports medicine, arthroscopy, shoulder surgery, trauma, SI joint dysfunction, and joint replacements of the shoulder, hip, and knee.

    Deeply committed to advancing orthopedic care in Montana, Dr. LaPorte represents the state on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has previously held the presidency of the Montana Orthopedic Society. His dedication to the local sports community earned him the Lifetime Volunteer Award from the Missoula Area Hockey Association in 2014. He continues to serve as team physician for the University of Montana Griz Hockey team, having previously supported the Maulers and the Missoula Jr Bruins.

    Recognized for his excellence in sports medicine, Dr. LaPorte was honored as the Team Physician of the Year by the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association in 2003. Presently, he proudly serves as the Team Physician for the PaddleHeads Baseball team.

    Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. LaPorte finds joy in recreational activities such as tennis, skiing, and boating, often shared with friends and family.

    Greg Murray is a Physician Assistant, PA-C, who works closely with Dr. LaPorte in both surgery and the clinic. Greg also evaluates and treats patients who come to our Orthopedic Urgent Care.
