What bills can I expect to receive after surgery?

If surgery is required, separate statements will be sent to you for each provider of services. You may receive billing from each of the following:

  • Physician
  • Surgery Center or Hospital
  • Surgical Assistant
  • Anesthesiologist
  • Pathology/Lab
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Providers

Does Missoula Bone & Joint contract with my insurance company?

We are preferred providers with most insurance companies. However, to ensure that we are contracted with your specific health plan, please contact your insurance company prior to any appointments to verify eligibility and coverage.

Do you accept Medicare Assignment

Does my surgery/procedure require pre-authorization?

Many insurance companies require pre-authorization. Prior to any planned procedure our Pre-authorization Department will contact your insurance company to pre-authorize your surgery. We suggest that you contact them also in case additional information is needed. It is our policy to not schedule any workers’ compensation procedures prior to authorization being verified.

Does my insurance company pay for any procedure performed at any facility?

You will need to contact your insurance company for any facility restrictions.

What is included in the surgeon's fee for a procedure performed?

The surgeon's fee covers the operative charge for your surgery and routine postoperative care for either 10 or 90 days, depending on your procedure. Charges for X-rays, casts, braces, supplies, etc. are not included in your surgeon's charge.

Will Missoula Bone & Joint bill my insurance company?

As a courtesy we will bill your primary and secondary insurance companies. If your insurance does not respond within 30 days the balance then becomes your responsibility. It will then be necessary for you to contact your insurance carrier regarding reimbursement.

Will I have to pay at my appointment?

Yes. You will be notified upon scheduling what payment will be required.

I just received my bill and I cannot pay the full amount. What should I do?

Please call our Patient Accounts Department at (406) 532-8779. They will be happy to discuss payment options with you.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card?

Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

How do I obtain a refill of my prescription?

Please contact your pharmacy and have them fax a request to our office at (406) 721-6053.

How do I obtain a copy of my records?

Download and complete our Release of Information form. You can then mail it, fax it to (406) 721-6053, or bring it to our office. If you have questions please call our Medical Records department directly (406)721-4436 ext.5937

When can I expect to receive my records?

Do you have a contract with Tribal Health Insurance?

Effective October 1st, 2019 Missoula Bone & Joint will be contracted with Tribal Health. All patients must have a signed Purchase Order from Tribal Health before we can schedule you for an appointment.
