Amie Schillinger, Physician Assistant, Joins Missoula Bone & Joint

Amie Schillinger is a certified physician assistant specializing in sports medicine, spine evaluation, and orthopedic urgent care. She enjoys helping patients learn about their acute and/or chronic condition or injury, and provides the best treatment options for optimal healing and return to activity. She believes strongly in individualized care for each patient.

Sports medicine specialists treat a wide range of injuries, including acute traumas such as ligament sprains, muscle strains, and fractures. Sports medicine is not just for the elite athlete with an injury, it is for anyone who has joint pain or an injury which has not yet progressed to disease or arthritis in the joint. Treatment can include nonoperative management such as bracing, injections, and physical therapy. The goal of sports medicine is to get you back doing the activities you enjoy.

Amie was born and raised in the great state of Montana. She received a bachelor of science in nursing from Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota, in 2003, and then earned her master of science in physician assistant studies, MCPAS, in 2007 from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. Most recently, Amie worked in Superior, Montana, at Mineral Community Hospital providing emergency room, inpatient care, and outpatient/clinic care for patients in Mineral County. Amie also has experience in trauma care, women’s health, neurology, and primary care.

Amie loves the four mild seasons of Western Montana, and all that Missoula has to offer. She currently enjoys following her children’s sporting events and activities, including soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, track, baseball, and gymnastics. She can also be found attending Montana Grizzly athletic events.
