Dr. Zackery Witte is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine surgery, including all conditions of the neck and back. He attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and he spent his internship and residency at the University of Kentucky. His fellowship in spine surgery brought him to the Houston Methodist/Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, before he joined the practice of Missoula Bone & Joint in 2019. He remains active in research and publication, with numerous articles on the topics of his specialization. In his free time, he makes full use of the Montana lifestyle with waterfowl and upland hunting, big game hunting, fishing, hiking, trail running, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.

Anyone who has suffered from back and neck pain knows the toll it takes on daily life. From sitting and standing comfort, to quality of life, back health directly contributes to mental and full-body health. When something is amiss in this area, it impacts your day-to-day significantly. Back problems can come from a number of causes, from old injuries to new ones, repetitive strain, and just the aging process.

When discs in your spine and neck are damaged or inflamed, moving becomes uncomfortable or downright painful. It can also lead to weakness, tingling, and numbness. There are many routes to treatment and pain management when you’re experiencing spinal problems, but sometimes surgery is the best course of action. Dr. Witte will work with you to find the treatment and surgical course that is right for your situation. If surgery is the answer for you, he can guide you through the steps from intervention to recovery. As a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, AO Spine, and American Orthopaedic Association, he is up to date on the latest techniques and technology to help you on the road to a pain-free life.
