John Bohnert, MD

Dr. John Bohnert is a board-certified anesthesiologist who has been practicing in Missoula since 1998. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont in 1988, after initially pursuing a PhD in chemistry and working as a part-time ski patroller. He went on to complete his anesthesiology residency at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1993.

Dr. Bohnert began his career in Salt Lake City, where he enjoyed both practicing medicine and spending time on the slopes. He was later drawn to Missoula for its strong medical community and welcoming, small-town feel. Outside of work, he enjoys cross-country skiing, cycling, gardening, and woodworking. He is also a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
