Gordon Gray, MDAnesthesiologistDr. Gray moved to Missoula in 1994 to begin his career in anesthesiology, guided by a mentor’s advice: “Decide where you want to live and practice medicine there.” Drawn by both the quality of the medical community and the opportunity to raise a family in a beautiful, active setting, he has built a long-standing career rooted in both professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
Dr. Gray earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1990. He continued at the University of Washington for his residency in anesthesiology, serving as Chief Administrative Resident, and became board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1995. He holds active medical licenses in both Montana and Washington and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Montana Society of Anesthesiologists.
In his practice, Dr. Gray brings both analytical skill and a deep sense of compassion, always mindful of the vulnerability patients feel before surgery. He has a particular interest in regional anesthesia and in approaches that reduce the cognitive effects of anesthesia to support smoother recoveries.
Earlier in life, he spent as much time as possible skiing and fly fishing, but his interests have since shifted toward music, gardening, family life, and relaxing with his French Bulldogs. His life philosophy reflects his belief that relationships are the most valuable part of life—both in and out of the operating room.
