    Cameron Barton, MD
    Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeon

Dr. Cam Barton is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in partial knee replacement, minimally invasive total knee replacement, hip replacement, and revision surgery of the hip and knee. He uses the anterior approach or the posterior approach for hip replacement surgery, depending on the patient’s evaluation and preference.

Dr. Barton is a specialist in outpatient hip and knee replacement, utilizing minimally invasive techniques to help his patients recover quickly and return to their favorite activities faster. Dr. Barton believes that patient education and discussion of all available options is crucial to both patient satisfaction and great outcomes. His goal for outpatient surgery is “home the same day as surgery to recover in the comfort of your own home.” He offers joint replacement surgery at Missoula Bone & Joint Ambulatory Surgery Center, and Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

For total knee replacement surgery, he specializes in advanced techniques, including the quad-sparing subvastus approach that preserves the quadriceps muscle. By minimizing muscle disruption, this technique is designed to support less post-operative pain, improved early mobility, and a smoother recovery. Dr. Barton is committed to using modern, evidence-based surgical methods to help patients return to an active, pain-free lifestyle.

Since joining Missoula Bone & Joint, Dr. Barton has performed over a thousand joint replacement surgeries; knee replacement, partial knee replacement, hip replacement and revisions. This includes over 500 anterior hip replacements. Currently, he performs 2-3 partial knee replacement surgeries each month. This procedure is ideal for select candidates whose arthritis affects only one compartment of the knee, preserving more of the natural joint.
