What does an Orthopaedic Surgeon Treat?

An Orthopaedic surgeon is an expert with extensive training in proper diagnosis and both non-surgical and surgical treatment of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. They are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles.

Orthopaedic surgeons explore nonsurgical options first, such as pain medication, steroid injection or rehabilitation, to name a few. They use imaging tools such as x-rays and MRI to help them diagnose your condition. They also have the expertise to perform surgery to repair an injury or correct a condition, if necessary. Musculoskeletal pain is the number one reason why people visit their doctors each year.

The Orthopaedic surgeons at Missoula Bone & Joint work with their patients to help them reclaim their quality of life.

This is what one patient recently shared about his experience at Missoula Bone & Joint. “After 20 years of not being able to ride, I took this trail ride. Thank you Dr. Allmacher and Jesse Doll for the new total hip replacement”, Tomie B. 2017
