" />You may be faced with the decision right now of whether to have an elective surgery at Missoula Bone & Joint. The decision to have surgery at any time is a big decision, but now during our current covid-19 pandemic adds another layer to your decision process. Please understand that your safety and the safety of our staff is always our primary concern. We continue to follow federal, state and local guidelines and we are taking this pandemic very seriously.
Our surgeons believe that the right time for an orthopedic surgery is when your quality of life is being compromised. For some that might mean constant daily joint pain, and for others that might mean they can no longer do an activity that brings them joy and fulfillment.
It is important to begin with a comprehensive evaluation by one of our board certified orthopedic surgeons to learn about your treatment options. It is common that orthopedic surgeons specialize in a particular region of the body. Click on the graphic below and then select the area where you are experiencing pain, so you can learn more about our surgeons and their specialties.
When you have decided that now is the right time for your surgery your provider will talk to you about our specific protocols in place to make this a positive experience. Once you have all your questions answered and you understand the process of surgery you can feel confident that our surgery center team will take exceptional care of you throughout the entire surgical process.
Additional precautions to keep you safe
Outpatient surgery centers have high airflow exchange and high sanitation standards to keep patients safe and optimize successful surgical outcomes. Now, during covid-19 the time between surgeries has been extended as an additional safety precaution, to allow extra time for the air exchanges in the operating rooms.

“… all staff I met were very concerned that I understood the process and procedure prior to the surgery. It was so welcoming that I felt as though I had entered the home of a close friend and met their family. My comfort level was their priority.”
“… Everyone at the surgery center was very caring and attentive, from the gal who met me at the door and took my temperature, to the man who gave me my final instructions and made sure I got to my car safely. The nurses were wonderful as well as the anesthesiologist. Everyone made me feel at ease about the whole process. I was very comfortable. I will be having my third surgery there soon and will highly recommend Missoula Bone and Joint.”
“Everyone was kind, caring, and friendly. It was the best surgical experience I think I’ve ever had. Thank you so much!”
