As we celebrate Physical Therapy month we are excited to welcome Ryan McCann, PT, DPT, ATC to the MBJ Physical Therapy team. Ryan enjoys working with a variety of orthopedic conditions including post-operative care and overuse injuries with a particular interest in sports-related pathologies. Previous experiences have given him unique insight regarding ACL-reconstruction, tendon pathology, running injuries, and other various lower extremity diagnoses. Ryan is passionate about ensuring his patients feel strong, independent, and confident when they work with him.
Ryan is from Frostburg, Maryland but has enjoyed his time in Missoula at the University of Montana where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May, 2021. He received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Wheeling Jesuit University, West Virginia, in 2016. During his undergraduate years he played soccer for the Wheeling Cardinals at the NCAA Division II intercollegiate level.
After graduate school Ryan worked as an Athletic Trainer in the high school setting for two years before moving to Montana to attend Physical Therapy school. He is looking forward to creating a good working relationship with the MBJ Athletic Training team to provide a smooth transition back to sports for our young athletes after post-injury rehabilitation in the clinic setting.
His favorite Montana adventure so far was a 10 day backpacking trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area, and more recently a 7 day backpacking trip in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.
If you are in the clinic, feel free to stop by and welcome Ryan to the team! To schedule an appointment please call our Physical Therapy department at (406)542-4702
