Dr. Colin Sherrill moved to Missoula, Montana in 2000 and joined the Missoula Bone & Joint orthopedic clinic. Dr. Sherrill has focused his area of expertise on the evaluation and treatment of all knee conditions. Knee pain can be caused by any number of factors, from sports injuries to chronic conditions. The knee joint is a complex hinge joint, allowing us to bend at the knee and bear weight. Because there are so many components within the knee, it is subject to a number of injuries. Whether you have a torn ligament, meniscus tear, ACL rupture, arthritis, fracture, or dislocation, Dr. Sherrill understands that knee pain can be debilitating and frustrating. Dr. Sherrill performs a comprehensive evaluation on each patient and provides treatment options for your particular condition or sports injury. Many conditions can be treated without surgery. Nonsurgical treatment may include physical therapy, home exercise program, medication, injections, or a brace. If surgery is your best option, Dr. Sherrill is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and total knee joint replacement surgery with over 20 years of experience. Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows your surgeon to see the structures inside your joint. Because the instruments are thin, your surgeon can use very small incisions to repair any damage inside the joint. Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative condition that causes the cartilage between joints to wear down. Eventually your bones start to rub together as you move; it is this friction that can result in knee pain, stiffness and swelling. While the symptoms of knee arthritis may be tolerated with some medications and lifestyle adjustments, for many, knee replacement is the only way to reduce pain and restore function. The right time for knee replacement surgery is when the pain is effecting your quality of life. He did my right meniscus repair surgery years ago and it’s taken me a long time to get my range of motion mostly back but I have most of it and I forgot to write a review saying how great and thorough he was. it’s been years since the surgery and I have no issues with my knee and I am able to do what I want on it without pain and lots of stiffness.

This facility was able to get me an appointment in a very timely manner. I did not need to wait for months. Surgery was also scheduled soon after the said appointment. I have been very impressed with this type of service. Especially in the extra busy climate of health care today. Dr Sherrill, MD and the entire staff was very professional and explained procedures very clearly. I was always comfortable emotionally and physically the entire time. Except for expected pains, of course. The cleanliness of the facility was impressive. Since we are self pay, the prices are also within reasonable rates. Excellent, in fact. When comparing to other facilities, we chose this one because of: 1. Prompt service. 2. The reasonable cost. We have not been disappointed. I had a knee problem. Dr. Colin Sherrill correctly diagnosed it was a torn meniscus, which was later confirmed through an MRI. I was afraid I had also done damage to my other knee, but Dr. Sherrill correctly diagnosed that the symptoms for the 2nd knee were likely because I was compensating for the injured knee, and not because of a true injury. The surgery and initial recovery for the 1st knee went great, but then I slipped on ice and re-injured the same knee causing 2 weeks of substantial swelling. Dr. Sherrill correctly diagnosed that the damage was unlikely to be permanent and that it would likely recover on its own. He was right again. I am happy with the work done by Dr. Sherrill and his team, and grateful that we have modern medicine and doctors and other staff who devote their lives to helping other people.
