Pain Management at Missoula Bone and Joint

A pain management specialist is a physician with special medical training in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of all different types of pain. Pain is a wide spectrum of disorders including acute pain, and chronic pain, and sometimes a combination of these. Pain management helps a patient alleviate or manage their chronic pain without surgery, using specialized interventional techniques, including injections.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PM&R, offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program specifically designed for each individual depending on the injury, disorder, or illness. The goal of rehabilitation and treatment is to restore impaired individuals to healthy, independent lives. It is a holistic approach with the patient’s needs at the center of the treatment plan. PM&R physicians manage nonsurgical conditions including orthopedic injuries, spine-related pain and dysfunction, occupational injuries and overuse syndromes, neurogenic bowel/bladder, pressure sore management, spasticity management, and chronic pain.

Dr. Lindsey Beck, DO, is a board certified PM&R physician who works closely with a team of professional staff who have special expertise in treating all different types of pain effecting the bones, muscles, and joints. Her goal is to utilize specialized interventional techniques, physical therapy, medications, massage, acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other methods to help patients regain function, and greatly decrease or eliminate pain. She works with her patients to get them back to work or play as quickly as possible while avoiding the dependence and potential addiction of chronic opioids.

Dr. Beck has been practicing pain management for the past four (4) years in Billings, Montana and is so pleased to join the Missoula Bone & Joint team.
