Get to know your doc! Dr. Zack Witte

Dr. Zack Witte is a fellowship trained spine surgeon, specializing in the treatment of all conditions of the neck and back.

Why did you choose a career in medicine/orthopedics? When I was in college playing soccer, I tore both of my ACL’s in my knees and was able to witness firsthand the impact that an orthopedic surgeon could have on someone’s life. I was definitely drawn to the field of medicine by those experiences and then pursued spine surgery based on my experience with mentors from both medical school and residency.

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy being outdoors and with my family, whether it be hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing or just sitting by the campfire. I also still enjoy playing soccer and exercising.

What is on your bucket list? Most items are hunting and travel related, and moving to Montana certainly makes most of the hunting ones more easily obtainable.

Tell us something about your family or childhood? My wife and I have lived in Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky and Texas since we were married in 2008. We are excited about living in Montana and finally being able to put down roots and raise our family here.

What was your first job? I started mowing lawns for neighbors and family friends when I was 10 years old.

What are your favorite movies/TV shows? For movies I’d go with Gladiator, Legends of the Fall, and Horrible Bosses. As for TV, I enjoy Archer, Vikings, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

What is your most memorable adventure? One of my most memorable adventures was watching my family explore Great Smoky Mountains National Park and being so proud of my daughters and how they truly enjoyed being in the outdoors.
