Dr. Cameron Barton joins Missoula Bone & Joint

Missoula Bone & Joint welcomes Dr. Cameron Barton to our team. Dr. Barton is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in partial knee replacement, minimally invasive total knee replacement, hip replacement, and revision surgery of the hip and knee. He uses the anterior approach or the posterior approach for hip replacement surgery, depending on the patient’s evaluation and preference.

Dr. Barton is a specialist in outpatient hip and knee replacement, utilizing minimally invasive techniques to help his patients recover quickly and return to their favorite activities faster. Dr. Barton believes that patient education and discussion of all available options is crucial to both patient satisfaction and great outcomes. His goal for outpatient surgery is “home the same day as surgery to recover in the comfort of your own home.” He will be offering joint replacement surgery at Missoula Bone & Joint Ambulatory Surgery Center, St. Patrick Hospital, and Community Medical Center.

About Dr. Cameron Barton

Cameron Barton attended medical school at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 2016. After medical school, he moved to Iowa to complete orthopedic surgery residency in 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Barton was born and raised in Monument, Colorado where he spent most of his time outdoors enjoying mountain biking, snowmobiling, skiing, and hiking. These outdoor passions eventually culminated in downhill mountain bike racing for the University of Colorado Cycling Team during his undergraduate years. He enjoys treating patients in Montana, and he looks forward to helping his patients get back to enjoying their favorite activities and returning to work.

Dr. Barton joins the Missoula Bone & Joint team with his wife Aubrey Barton, who is a Physician Assistant. They have two daughters, who are the light of their lives and greatest accomplishments to date. He enjoys taking them hiking, biking, and skiing in the Montana wilderness.
