Q. What bills can I expect to receive after surgery?

A. If surgery is required, separate statements will be sent to you for each provider of services. You may receive billing from each of the following:

Q. Does Missoula Bone & Joint contract with my insurance company?

A. We are preferred providers with most insurance companies. However, to ensure that we are contracted with your specific health plan, please contact your insurance company prior to any appointments to verify eligibility and coverage. Q. Does my surgery/procedure require pre-authorization?

A. Many insurance companies require pre-authorization. Prior to any planned procedure our Pre-authorization Department will contact your insurance company to pre-authorize your surgery. We suggest that you contact them also in case additional information is needed. It is our policy not to schedule any worker's compensation procedures prior to authorization being verified.

Q. Does my insurance company pay for any procedure performed at any facility?

A. You will need to contact your insurance company for any facility restrictions.

Q. What is included in the surgeon's fee for a procedure performed?

A. The surgeon's fee covers the operative charge for your surgery and routine postoperative care for either 10 or 90 days, depending on your procedure. Charges for x-rays, casts, braces, supplies, etc. are not included in your surgeon's charge.

Q. Will Missoula Bone & Joint bill my insurance company?

A. As a courtesy we will bill your insurance company. If your insurance does not respond within 30 days the balance then becomes your responsibility. It will then be necessary for you to contact your insurance carrier regarding reimbursement.

Q. Will I have to pay at my appointment?

A. Yes. You will be notified upon scheduling what payment will be required.

Q. What if I cannot pay at my appointment?

A. You will be charged a $10 late fee.

Q. I just received my bill and I cannot pay the full amount. What should I do?

A. Please call our Patient Accounts Department at (406) 721-4436, option #3. They will be happy to discuss payment options with you.

Q. Can I pay my bill with a credit card?

A. Yes. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Q: Do you accept Medicare Assignment?

A. Yes.

Q. How do I obtain a refill of my prescription?

A. Please contact your pharmacy and have them fax a request to our office at (406) 721-6053.

Q. How do I obtain a copy of my records?

A. You can download a printable version of Missoula Bone & Joint's Release of Information Form from this website. Complete this form and either mail, fax (406-721-6053), or bring it to our office.

Q. When can I expect to receive my records?

A. Your records will be available within 10 days unless previous arrangements have been made.
