Missoula Bone and Joint offers a community outreach program. The mission of this program is to offer free educational seminars and workshops in the community that we serve. Topics have included mechanism of injury, types of injuries, preventive measures, and treatment options. This year we have conducted sports specific seminars for runners, soccer players, and kayakers. Our most recent seminar provided participants with information on the SI Joint, non-surgical treatment options, and introduced a new surgical option that is now available to our patients. Feedback from these seminars has been very supportive, showing us that there is a need for continued education. Participants have enjoyed the open question and answer time with our Physicians, and the practical sessions with our Physical Therapists.

Another program that we offer is “Knowledge at Noon”. In this program Missoula Bone and Joint is invited to present at a local business/company to a group of employees during their lunch break. The talk is approximately an hour and employees can bring their lunch and eat while enjoying in informal presentation on injuries, injury prevention, and treatment options.
School age children love to learn about their body, what makes up their body, and what happens when they get an injury. This fun and interactive session is tailored to the age of the audience.
